Poetic dissection of the rain


Blurriness

and heaviness

engulf the night

digesting

the anomalous coordinates

of people hurrying along

—aimlessly walking—

and a single

soulful

solitary dog

avoiding

with acrobatic heroism

puddles

as deep as an ocean

as the rain

gravidly persists

in branding

with its blinding

whiteness

the bleak

chaotic

boringly menacing

Tuesday landscape.


The car engines

spurt

cloudy,

thick streams

of mechanically

ascending vapor

like amateur geysers

or spastic colons

competing erratically

with the hollowing

pitifully lighted

mange-tainted

sky above.


Umbrellas

newspapers

and unhappily

wet faces

lend the vision

a surreal quality

of slow

strobing

adulterated motion

ready to assault

the unsuspecting pupil

to leave within

its viscous ejaculation

of alternate,

almost gothic

quasi-medieval,

seminal reality.

A TODOS LOS NAVEGANTES Y NÁUFRAGOS QUE ARRIBAN A PEDRO’S ISLAND

Quien llega a esta Isla, llega exhausto: vapuleado, cuasi-ahogado, confuso; luego de haber navegado o naufragado a contracorriente y de haber escapado las fauces hambrientas del océano inmenso y su profundidad alucinante de cristal, espuma y sombra.

Gracias por tener fe en el horizonte. Gracias por perseverar.

Descansa en estas playas y siente que has llegado, finalmente, a donde perteneces desde siempre. Te ofrezco, en recompensa de viaje y por tu denodado esfuerzo, todos los secretos, la paz y la magia de este paraíso que de este momento en adelante, es también tuyo.
